Twenty Four and Thriving!

*Blows off dust and removes cobwebs

Hi there!
So here’s me sneaking in like I didn’t go MIA for months.

Look, I’m sorry, I really am. I’m sorry for all the unfinished flash tales too. I hope to do better. How are you though? How’s your heart? I really hope you’re okay. Talk to me in the comments.

Side notes off, I’m actually here because it’s my birthday today and my heart is full. Birthdays are not only a time for celebration but also an opportunity for introspection and  fresh goal-setting.

Since I’m turning 24 today, I’d love to share 24 valuable lessons I’ve learned the previous year. You might need them!

1. Embrace change and adaptability: Life is full of unexpected twists and turns, and being open to change can lead to growth and new opportunities. I always hated change, but I had no choice than to embrace it at some point.

2. Prioritize self-care: Taking care of oneself is crucial for overall well-being. Whether it’s physical, mental, or emotional, self-care should be a top priority. I did that a lot, I think you should too. Plus, one thing about me? I will romanticize my life!

3. Surround yourself with positive influences: The people we surround ourselves with greatly impact our lives. Choose to be around those who uplift and inspire you. This is why I’m thankful for all my friends.

4. Learn to let go: Holding on to grudges or past mistakes only hinders personal growth. Learning to let go and forgive is so liberating! Also, let go of things too. Clothes, shoes and stuff. You know what the Bible says about giving.

5. Practice gratitude daily: Cultivating a grateful mindset brings joy and appreciation for life’s blessings, big and small. I have a gratitude journal and jar, where I keep the things I’m grateful for, no matter how small.

6. Take risks: Stepping out of your comfort zone can lead to personal and professional growth. Embrace new challenges and opportunities, it really helps. Although, this is something I still struggle with.

7. Trust the journey: Life is a journey filled with ups and downs. Trust that everything happens for a reason; for your good. So, have faith in God and the process.

8. Embrace failure as a learning opportunity: Failure is not a reflection of one’s worth but an opportunity to learn, grow, and improve. It helps your overall journey. I used to be afraid of making mistakes, but not anymore.

9. Practice mindfulness: Being present in the moment allows for greater appreciation and enjoyment of life’s experiences. Please, stay intentional.

10. Nurture relationships: Invest time and effort into building and maintaining meaningful connections with loved ones. Don’t ignore or push away those that love you. Create a balance.

11. Practice self-reflection regularly: Taking time to reflect on one’s actions, thoughts, and emotions fosters personal growth and self-awareness. It feels like some sort of therapy, really.

12. Document your journey: Documenting your journey either through writing, videos or photos is super important. your future self would thank you!

13. Practice patience: Not everything happens according to our timeline. Patience allows for greater acceptance and peace of mind. I’m saying this from a certain level of experience.

14. Embrace vulnerability: Opening up and being vulnerable with others cultivates connections and allows for personal growth. I’ve also learned that being vulnerable does not make you weak.

15. Set boundaries: Knowing one’s limits and setting boundaries is crucial for

maintaining healthy relationships. Create healthy boundaries and respect the boundaries of others as well.

16. Embrace simplicity: Finding joy in the simple pleasures of life brings contentment and gratitude. Plus, it’s team minimalist for life baby!

17. Take time for solitude: Spending time alone allows for self-reflection, rejuvenation, and personal growth.

18. Practice forgiveness, both towards others and oneself: Holding onto grudges or self-blame only hinders personal growth and happiness.

19. Take your finances seriously: We always have one thing or the other we spend our funds on, but it is necessary to keep track of them. Financial responsibility is no joke.

20. Prioritize fellowship with God: One with God is majority. That’s all, that’s it.

21. Practice active listening: Truly listening to others fosters deeper connections and understanding. Don’t just be the talker, take a pause and listen.

22. Learn to say no: Prioritizing one’s own needs and setting boundaries means learning to say NO when necessary. It’s okay not to be a people pleaser. Especially when it’s inconvenient.

23. Practice resilience: Life will inevitably bring challenges, but developing resilience allows for bouncing back and moving forward. Can I get an Amen?

24. Celebrate achievements, big and small: Take time to acknowledge and celebrate personal achievements, no matter how small they may seem. A win is a win.

Finally, birthdays offer a unique opportunity for reflection, gratitude, and setting new intentions for the year ahead. Through this blog post, I hope to inspire readers to embrace their own birthdays as a chance for personal growth, celebrate their accomplishments, and envision a future filled with purpose and joy.

See you soon, but until then,

stay jiggy!
